The original 3DS screens had a resolution of 400x240 pixels. On a handheld, this looked fine, but blown up on a monitor, it looked blurry. Citra introduced internal resolution scaling. In March 2024, the official development of Citra was following a legal settlement between Nintendo and the Yuzu team, who also maintained Citra.
