Previous versions (0.5X) had a linear escape sequence. Version 0.60 introduces the . You now have a hidden "Stress/Larval" meter. Interact with too many insectoid walls, fail a QTE, or stare at the Three-Eyed Wardens for too long, and you begin to pupate. Game over isn't a death screen; it is a slow, beautiful, horrifying transformation scene where the player character grows chitin.

Previously, only drone insects and the Queen were threats. Version 0.60 introduces a roaming enemy: The Dermestid . It is a skeletal beetle that travels through the ventilation shafts. It is completely invisible on the map; you can only see it when dust motes appear in the air. If you hear chittering, stop moving. It is completely blind, but if you bump into it, it strips your inventory by 50%.
