EndNote X7 was released by (formerly Thomson Reuters) several years ago. While it is no longer the flagship version, many users still seek it out because it runs well on older hardware.

Endnote X7 had multiple service updates (X7.1, X7.2, X7.7). Pirated copies cannot update. If you use Windows 10/11 or newer Mac OS, X7 will crash frequently without these patches.
