Rename SAVE.001 to SAVE.001.bak or move them to a backup folder.
(To quickly access AppData, press Win + R , type %appdata% , then find the Assassin’s Creed III folder.)

Download AC3 Save Tool (available on Nexus Mods or GitHub). This tool automatically resigns saves to your RG Mechanics emulator ID. It is the safest method.
Go to the RG save folder (from Part 2). You will see your existing files. Rename SAVE
Inside the game installation folder:
C:\Users\[Your PC Name]\Documents\Assassin's Creed III Remastered\SAVES\ press Win + R
