Purists will notice changes. The protagonist (played brilliantly by Francisco Ortiz) loses some of his internal monologue (inevitable when adapting a diary). A secondary character from the second book is introduced earlier to provide exposition. However, the spirit remains intact: this is a story about a normal man in extraordinary terror.

The protagonist has no martial arts training. He doesn't own a gun. He is you.
