The story follows , an Om orphaned as an infant and adopted as a plaything by a young Draag named Tiwa. Through Tiwa’s educational headset, Terr accidentally gains access to the Draags' advanced knowledge. After escaping his life of domesticity, Terr joins a colony of wild Oms and uses his newfound intelligence to lead a rebellion against their giant oppressors.
