On “Hold My Liquor,” Kanye cedes the verses to Chief Keef and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), delivering a confession of drunk driving, sexual regret, and loneliness. “Bitch, I’m back out my coma / Waking up on your sofa.” It’s the most vulnerable moment on the album—and it’s buried under layers of feedback.
