A standard part of the Corona installation, the Material Library provides over 500 high-quality, ready-to-use materials.
In the fast-paced world of architectural visualization and CGI, stability is often more valuable than new features. Chaos Czech’s release of strikes that perfect balance. While Corona 10 was a landmark release focusing on performance and new tonemapping, Hotfix 1 is the update that turns a great renderer into a production-ready workhorse.
: Cameras can now be placed entirely inside or partially submerged within volumes, such as clouds, fog, or water simulations, without previous rendering limitations.
The library isn’t “drag and drop” for every scenario – some materials require minor IOR or glossiness tweaks – but it’s 90% there, saving hours of manual setup.
In Corona 10, the library is typically downloaded automatically (approximately 5.2GB) during the installation process. If you are installing on multiple machines, an offline material library can be downloaded separately to save time.
: Artists can now control individual material channels (such as displacement, metalness, or diffuse) without affecting other attributes, allowing for precise layering of effects like cracks or dirt.
