The narrative introduces us to Cyrus Mistry (Saif Ali Khan), a drifter with a harmless demeanor and a crooked smile. He arrives at the doorstep of a wealthy Parsi family, the Sethnas, to assist a retired sculptor, Dinshaw Sethna (Naseeruddin Shah), with his pottery.
