These tools only work for Offline Single Player characters. They cannot modify your Battle.net online characters.
As long as D2R maintains client-side saves, Hero Editors will persist. Blizzard’s only true solution—migrating all characters to the cloud—would kill modding and offline play entirely, a trade-off the community has rejected. Therefore, the Hero Editor remains a controversial but permanent fixture of the D2R ecosystem.
