Duhamel is pitch-perfect as the titular character. He manages to be charismatic enough that we believe he is a superstar, yet vulnerable enough that we understand why Rosalee falls for him. It is a difficult balance to play a character who is essentially the antagonist of the love triangle but still remain likable. Duhamel pulls it off with a smirk and a surprising amount of heart.
