In 2002, Jota Quest was invited to perform on MTV Brasil's "Acústico MTV" series, a program that featured acoustic performances by popular Brazilian bands. The band decided to record a medley of their hit songs, as well as a few covers, in an intimate acoustic setting.
Visually, the aesthetic set a standard. The "unplugged" look—simple shirts, no flashy effects, sweat on the forehead—became the band's new brand. Even today, when Jota Quest plays festivals, they often perform the Acústico versions of their old songs, because fans prefer them to the originals.
