This scenario tests the concept of "treat the greatest threat to life." While Patient 2 has an obvious deformity, Patient 3 exhibits signs of shock (tachycardia, hypotension) and respiratory distress (tachypnea) with chest bruising—likely a tension pneumothorax or cardiac tamponade. The elderly patient is also at risk for rapid decompensation. Confusion indicates cerebral hypoperfusion (Class III hemorrhagic shock).
