The defining feature of the gameplay is the ability to stop time. Unlike other games where this might be a simple gimmick, Touhou Luna Nights builds its entire combat and exploration loop around it. Sakuya can freeze time to bypass obstacles, avoid undodgeable bullet patterns, or throw a barrage of knives that remain suspended in the air until time resumes. Managing your MP (Magic Power) to sustain this ability is crucial, adding a layer of resource management to the fast-paced action.

Like any good Metroidvania, you’ll find upgrades (like the Double Jump or Slide) that allow you to reach secret areas in earlier levels.

And yes, it’s absolutely fantastic on PC.
