By analyzing how the “menu” (as a navigational interface) reframes the film’s spatial logic, I argue that home video menus recreate the film’s central tension: the desire to map the unknown. The 1960 film, starring James Mason and Pat Boone, transformed Verne’s geological romance into a Cold‑era spectacle of scientific hubris.
