The voice acting elevates the material. Because the actors weren't constrained by the physical limitations of live-action, and because the animators were willing to push the visuals to grotesque extremes, the performances in Sausage Party possess a chaotic energy rarely seen in animation.

The film follows Frank (a sausage) and Brenda (a hot dog bun) who discover that the "Great Beyond" (the exit door to the grocery store) isn't heaven—it's a kitchen where humans cook, shred, and eat them.

In 2016, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's raunchy adult animated comedy "Sausage Party" took the world by storm, leaving audiences in stitches and sparking conversations about existentialism, free will, and the meaning of life. But beneath its foul-mouthed humor and colorful cast of characters, "Sausage Party" hides a surprisingly profound exploration of the human – and food – condition.
