Memu Portable is not for the casual gamer who plays Genshin Impact for 10 hours a week on their gaming rig. For them, standard installation is faster and more stable.

Standard wisdom holds that installed software runs faster than portable software. For emulators, this is not strictly true. The bottleneck is virtualization, not file access.

The "deep" appeal of MEmu Portable lies in its liberation from static hardware. Traditional emulators are often deeply integrated into the Windows OS, making them difficult to move or "clean up".
