The Srimad Bhagavatam Telugu translation has a rich history dating back to the 11th century CE. The earliest known Telugu translation was made by the poet and scholar, Bhimana, during the reign of the Eastern Chalukya dynasty. Composed by the sage Veda Vyasa (who also compiled the Vedas, Mahabharata, and Puranas), the Srimad Bhagavatam consists of 12 Cantos (Skandhas), roughly 18,000 verses. Unlike other Puranas that focus on rituals or genealogies, the Bhagavatam is exclusively dedicated to —the path of loving devotion to the Supreme Person, Sri Krishna. (1450–1510)
