Rimworld -pre-aplha- V.0.0.232 -pc- 2013 __exclusive__ -
: This build was used to generate hype and provide "hands-on" previews for gaming journalists during the initial Kickstarter campaign , which eventually raised over $268,000.
Every alpha has its legends. v.0.0.232 had the "Infinite Starvation Loop." Pathfinding was so primitive that if a colonist was assigned to haul food while starving, they would pick up the food, walk three steps, drop it because they were starving, try to eat, realize the food was on the ground, pick it up, walk three steps, drop it... repeat until death.
In the sprawling landscape of modern PC gaming, few titles have demonstrated the longevity and evolutionary depth of RimWorld . Today, it stands as a titan of the simulation genre, a complex story generator capable of weaving narratives of triumph, tragedy, and inescapable madness. However, to truly appreciate the intricate machinery of the final release, one must look back to the very beginning. RimWorld -Pre-Aplha- V.0.0.232 -PC- 2013
Then there was the "Solar Flare of Doom." Solar flares didn't just turn off electronics (there were few); they corrupted the temperature map. If a flare hit while you had a fire burning, the temperature would sometimes roll over to negative 400 degrees Kelvin, instantly freezing colonists solid.
Launching v.0.0.232 is a jarring experience for veteran players. The iconic warm browns and muted greens of the modern biomes are absent. Instead, the color palette is washed out, almost clinical. Despite its primitive state, v.0.0.232 was surprisingly playable. The core loop was established:
Hidden away in the archives of gaming history lies a specific, rudimentary artifact: . repeat until death
: Players did not choose a landing site on a globe; the "World Generation" and landing pod selection systems were not added until Alpha 6.
