The organization is currently developing several "v2.0" projects simultaneously:

The emulation runtime is modular, based on from upstream projects (DOSBox, MAME, Vice, etc.). For v2.0, we introduce: emupedia v2.0

A 2025 pilot with 12 secondary schools (n=340 students) compared learning outcomes for a unit on computing history using Emupedia v2.0 vs. traditional slide-based instruction. Students using Emupedia v2.0 scored on retention of technical concepts (p<0.01) and reported higher engagement (4.7/5 vs. 2.9/5).

A 2023 study by the Internet Archive found that 38% of commercial software released between 1985–1995 is no longer functional on modern hardware, and 12% is completely lost. Emulation remains the most viable preservation strategy, yet existing platforms (e.g., MAME, RetroArch, browser-based JS-DOS) are either too technical for general users, lack historical context, or rely on centralized hosting vulnerable to link rot.
