You can hear the tension. Mark’s tracks sound like blink. Tom’s tracks sound like Angels & Airwaves. The result is a hybrid that feels less like a band and more like a custody battle over a sound. "Ghost on the Dance Floor" is haunting, and "After Midnight" is classic Mark, but the album lacks the cohesive joy of their prime.
